Know these cold
- The OSI model has 7 layers: Physical, Data Link, Network, Transport, Session, Presentation, Application — memorize them bottom-up.
- IP addresses (IPv4) are 32-bit numbers written in dotted-decimal notation (e.g., 192.168.1.1). IPv6 uses 128-bit hex notation.
- TCP provides reliable, ordered delivery with handshaking; UDP is faster but unreliable — used for streaming and DNS.
- Windows, macOS, and Linux are the three primary desktop operating systems tested on A+ Core 2.
- File systems: NTFS (Windows, supports permissions/encryption), FAT32 (compatible, 4 GB file limit), exFAT (flash drives), ext4 (Linux).
